Tipplasty – What is Nose Tip Aesthetics?
Tipplasty ; It is a minor aesthetic surgery procedure applied when there are no problems such as arch, curvature or depression in the bone roof of the nose, but only when there are problems arising from the cartilage and soft tissues at the tip of the nose.
When This Operation Done?

In the pre-operative interview, photographs of the patient are taken from 6 different angles. It is evaluated whether it is suitable for tipplasty or not. Concomitant middle roof or bone roof problems are excluded. A planning is made with the patient as to how the new tip of the nose will be shaped. It is decided according to him.
This operation can be done alone. If necessary, it can be performed with deviation surgery, which is a functional surgical procedure.
It can be performed under both local and general anesthesia. This is a matter for the surgeon to talk to the patient and make a decision. General anesthesia is generally preferred. Processing time is variable. It depends on the type of operation to be performed. It usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
Tipplasty Can be Done with Which Techniques?
It is an aesthetic operation that can be done with open or closed technique. In the closed technique, there is no incision made from the tip of the nose. The incision is made through the invisible inner wall of the nose. Self-melting stitches are used.
For this reason, there is no stitch removal process. There are also no stitch marks. There is no need to use tampons and splints. It is sufficient to support the tissues only with proper banding.
Recovery time is shorter than rhinoplasty surgery. Since the bone roof is not intervened, there is no bruising. Edema may be minimal. Again, recovery occurs in a much shorter time than rhinoplasty surgery.
If local anesthesia is applied, patients may be discharged on the same day. In general anesthesia, it is recommended that they stay under hospital control for the first night. One or 2 days after the operation, social and business life can be returned. 7 days after the operation, the tapes are removed. It is recommended to apply cream into the nose. The nose will take its final shape in about 3-6 months.
We must protect the nose area very well, especially in the first month after the operation. We have to be careful against hard hits.
