Glaucoma or Eye Pressure
Intraocular pressure increases the fluid in the eye to nourish the tissues due to a blockage in the ducts.
Glaucoma or eye pressure is caused by visual impairment due to damage to the visual nerves due to high pressure in the eye.
What are The Symptoms?

- Fluctuation of vision
- See rings around the lights
- Factors that increase the risk of eye pressure
- Genetic factors
- Diabetes
- Over 40 years
- High myopia
- High hyperopia
- Migraine
- Intraocular inflammation (uveitis)
- Cortisone consumption
- Blockages of retinal veins
- Anemia
Eye Pressure Treatment
Eye pressure treatment is applied in three different ways. These are drugs, surgical treatments and laser treatments.
Medical Treatment
The patient is usually given medication drops.
The patient should use this drop according to the doctor’s instructions without disturbing the patient.
If the treatment is not sufficient, other methods are applied.
Laser Treatment
This treatment, which is performed under local anesthesia, is applied to patients who do not respond to drugs and do not have high blood pressure. The effect of laser treatment is 2-3 years.
Surgical Treatment
If drug therapy and laser therapy do not respond, if damage to the ocular nerves increases, surgical treatment is applied. The operation performed by local anesthesia does not bring back dead nerve cells and no longer damages the cells.
