What Is Filler?

Filler (Botulinum toxin) is a toxin obtained from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It prevents the release of substances that provide conduction at the nerve endings. It acts by stopping the transmission between nerves and the organs that nerves reach. The cessation of nerve conduction results in the reduction or complete loss of the functions of the organ that the nerve reaches.

WHICH AREAS FILLER USED?

Wrinkle treatment

The working of the mimic muscles over the years makes the folds on the skin that cover it evident. Thus, the lines on the face will appear. Lines are seen around the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes and lips. The lines on the forehead and eye edges make the person look older. The lines between the eyebrows give the person a frowning, angry look expression. The movements of these muscles can be weakened by applying Filler to the mimic muscles. The reduction in muscle movements also reduces streaking. In this way, a significant improvement is achieved in the facial expression that looks old and angry.

Face contouring

With Filler injection, the eyebrows can be lifted from the tail part and the height in the middle of the eyebrow that causes a confused face can be lowered.

Seeing the prominent upper gum together with the smile causes an aesthetic appearance while laughing. This situation can be easily corrected with Filler injection.

Masetter (chewing muscle)

Unlike other area applications, Filler applications to the masseter muscle are not applied for wrinkles. The facial appearance of these patients with prominent muscles is square. This is done to soften the image and get an oval face. Thus, a thinner and feminine face appearance is obtained.

Over-sweating treatment

Transmission between sweat glands and nerve endings is also stopped. The work of sweat glands can be reduced. The areas of the body that sweat the most are the palms and armpits. People who suffer from excessive sweating and associated sweat odor improve their complaints when Filler is applied. Its effect lasts up to 6 months.

Migraine treatment

Filler application; It is applied to 7 regions of the head and neck with thinner needle tips. The treatment is planned individually. There are at least 2 treatment periods with an interval of 12 weeks. In some patients, the injection may need to be repeated for therapeutic effectiveness. In some patients, the activity continues for a few years.

 HOW IS IT DONE?

Filler is administered by injection. It is not a painful procedure. There may be a slight pain at the time of injection. Injection is made into the mimic muscles when a decrease in the movements of the mimic muscles is desired, and into the skin when the complaint of sweating is desired to be reduced.

The effect of Filler starts in 3-4 days following the injection. Settles in 1 week. Duration of effect is 4-6 months. When Filler loses its effect, the application can be repeated.

Filler has no serious side effects on health. There may be temporary swelling and bruising after the application.

Immediately after the operation, daily life can be continued comfortably. However, movements that require bending for a long time and exercising the facial muscles should be avoided.
