Sometimes small diagnostic procedures can be performed during diagnostic bronchoscopy, and sometimes diagnostic samples may be taken during treatment .

After passing through the vocal cords, trachea and bronchial structures are examined. If necessary, biopsies can be taken from the tumors with forceps to be sent through the bronchoscope canal, or wash water can be collected by re-collecting the washing material (water) and the lung can be cleaned for analysis. These applications are not painful.
