There is no need to worry about holes especially seen in babies and children.<\/p>\n<p>However, it can cause various problems in later ages. The hole in the heart causes increased blood flow to the lungs. That is, a large or long-standing hole can damage the lungs or heart. In such cases, surgical operation may become essential in order to prevent complications that may occur.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What are The Types Of Holes in The Heart?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>ASD (Atrial Septal Defect):<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is a very common species. It can be defined as the hole in the wall between the two atria on the heart.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect):<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">Th<\/span>is<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\"> term<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">refers to <\/span>the <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">ope<\/span>n<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">ing<\/span><span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">s<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">loc<\/span><span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">at<\/span>e<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">d<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">between<\/span> the two ventricles. Another <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">con<\/span>di<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">tion<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">commonly<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">associated with these <\/span>is PDA disease. <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">I<\/span><span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">n t<\/span>his <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">case, <\/span>an intermediate vessel <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">exists <\/span>between the heart and the two <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">m<\/span>a<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">jor<\/span> arteries. <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">Normally,<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">this <\/span>vessel <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">c<\/span><span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">los<\/span>es <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">wi<\/span>t<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">h<\/span><span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">thre<\/span>e days after <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">bir<\/span>th. PDA disease<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">howev<\/span>e<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">r,<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">occurs<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">when these<\/span> vascular openings <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">f<\/span>a<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">i<\/span><span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">l<\/span> <span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">t<\/span>o close f<span class=\"diff--UX1Av\">ollowing<\/span> birth.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Complete Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD):<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is the heaviest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgeryistanbul.net\/en\/\">heart hole<\/a>. The hole in the heart concerns all 4 chambers. Oxygen-rich blood has trouble reaching the right place. AVSD is treated only surgically and with a patch. In some cases, more than one surgery may be required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Tetralogy of Fallot:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sometimes there is a hole in the heart, but other congenital heart diseases may also be present. In tetralogy of Fallot, 4 separate defects are together.
